This is an internal train station on the Abu Qir Railway Line within Alexandria, which is currently being developed and converted into a modern metro.

Gabriel Train Station in Alexandria was named after the Frenchman Francis Gabriel, who owned the property on which the station was built.

The area surrounding the station was also named after him, as the area was originally mostly agricultural land belonging to him.
