William Henry Jackson 1939 (photographer)

William Henry Jackson was a famous American photographer, born on April 4, 1843, in Caseyville, New York, USA, and died on June 30, 1942, in New York, USA.

He took numerous photographs of the landscape of the western United States in the 19th century, including "Mystic Lake" in Montana. He took this photograph in 1871 as part of a land survey for the U.S. Department of the Interior. This photograph is widely known and is part of the collections of several museums.

"Mystic Lake" shows a stunning view of the lake and surrounding mountains, reflecting the natural beauty of the American West at that time. This photograph is an important historical document of the U.S. Geological and Land Survey.

In addition to "Mystic Lake," Jackson took numerous other photographs of various areas of the American West, including the Yellowstone area. His works are considered among the most important historical and visual documents documenting life in the American West during the 19th century.
