They are called "Al-Tawila Tanks" and are located below the outlets of the Aden Plateau, which is about 800 meters above sea level. The tanks are connected to each other in a chain, and their function is to preserve, store, and discharge water for consumption. There are currently 17 tanks of varying sizes, and the total capacity of the tanks is about 20 million gallons.
